The Art Forum Würth Art Hub Outside Rome Turns 20. Interview with Director Valentina Spagnuolo

Il polo dell’arte Art Forum Würth fuori Roma compie 20 anni. Intervista alla direttrice Valentina Spagnuolo

Art Forum Würth in Capena, a museum founded by German entrepreneur Reinhold Würth within the company's logistics hub near Rome, celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. To mark the occasion, the museum has opened the exhibition "Dalla testa ai piedi," which explores the theme of the body through works from the Würth Collection, featuring artists such as Jean Arp, Magdalena Abakanowicz, Georg Baselitz, Fernando Botero, Francesco Clemente, Giorgio de Chirico, Jan Fabre, Antony Gormley, Alex Katz, Arnulf Rainer, Marc Quinn, and Andy Warhol. Director Valentina Spagnuolo, who has led the space since 2018, discusses the museum's history and mission in an interview.

The anniversary highlights the unique model of the Würth Art Forum network: 15 museums across 10 European countries, all located within company facilities and offering free admission. This approach integrates art into the workplace to enrich employees' lives while also serving surrounding communities, often in semi-industrial or peripheral areas lacking cultural institutions. The milestone underscores the enduring vision of Reinhold Würth, now 91, who began collecting in the 1960s and has amassed over 21,000 works, sharing them with 86,000 employees and the public.
