Artist Glenn Alan Cheney brings new show to Norwich

Artist and writer Glenn Alan Cheney will present a solo exhibition at the Gallery at the Wauregan in Norwich throughout June 2026, with an opening reception on June 5 during the city's First Friday celebration. The show features his impressionistic still lifes and landscapes, alongside more than 40 books he has authored, including titles such as "The Ruminist" and "Thanksgiving, the Pilgrims’ First year in America." Cheney also serves as co-president of the galleries at Norwich Arts Center, which will display some of his work concurrently.

This exhibition matters as it highlights the work of a local multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting and writing, and it underscores the role of community art spaces like the Gallery at the Wauregan and Norwich Arts Center in fostering regional cultural engagement. The show also ties into Norwich's First Friday celebration, demonstrating how local art events can anchor community programming and support for artists outside major metropolitan centers.
