Dib Bangkok, Thailand’s First International Contemporary Museum

Dib Bangkok, Thailand's first international contemporary art museum, has opened in Bangkok with its inaugural exhibition 'Invisible Presence,' featuring 80 works by 40 international artists, including 20 from Asia. The museum was named by Time Magazine as one of the 'world's greatest places' and was realized by Purat (Chang) Osathanugrah, fulfilling the vision of his late father, collector Petch Osathanugrah. The exhibition spans painting, sculpture, installation, photography, and multimedia, emphasizing multisensory engagement, with permanent installations by Alicja Kwade and James Turrell.

The opening of Dib Bangkok marks a significant milestone for Thailand's growing art scene, which already includes the Thailand Art Biennale and the upcoming Bangkok Art Biennale. By providing a world-class venue for contemporary art that prioritizes sensory and interactive experiences, the museum positions Bangkok as a major art hub in Southeast Asia. It also honors the legacy of Petch Osathanugrah, whose extensive collection forms the foundation of the museum, and highlights the region's increasing role in the global contemporary art landscape.
