Gagosian's Paris gallery on rue de Ponthieu will present a solo exhibition of works by the late Japanese painter Tetsuya Ishida from 10 June to 31 July 2026. The show brings together a selection of Ishida's haunting, surreal paintings that critique contemporary Japanese society, alienation, and the dehumanizing effects of corporate culture.
The exhibition marks a significant moment for Ishida's posthumous recognition in Europe, as his work has gained increasing international attention in recent years. Gagosian's global platform will introduce Ishida's powerful, dystopian vision to a wider audience, reinforcing his status as a critically important figure in late 20th-century Japanese art.
