Vernissage Nicolas Darrot | Museum Tinguely Basel

Museum Tinguely in Basel is hosting a unique multi-part exhibition titled 'Fuzzy Logic,' featuring the kinetic works of French artist Nicolas Darrot. The exhibition is staged within the museum's smallest display space—a repurposed former telephone booth—and unfolds in five distinct 'acts.' Each act introduces a new automaton character, such as 'Bone Machine' and 'Shaman,' which visitors can activate using tickets obtained from the museum office.

The program includes a series of vernissages accompanied by lectures from prominent art historians and critics. The second act features a presentation by Thierry Dufrêne, a specialist in contemporary sculpture and surrealism, who explores the dialogue between Darrot’s mechanical forms and the legacy of Jean Tinguely. Future installments will include contributions from Marguerite Pilven and a performance-lecture by Jean-Yves Jouannais, highlighting the intersection of robotics, theatricality, and art history.
