Current Parks, Recreation and Open Space Capital Projects - Community Services

Bernalillo County has announced several major developments in its Parks, Recreation, and Open Space capital projects. Key highlights include the acquisition of 43 acres of land at 301 Shirk Lane SW for agricultural preservation and the formal adoption of the 2026 Urban Agriculture Master Plan. These initiatives reflect a strategic commitment to expanding public green spaces and supporting urban farming infrastructure within the New Mexico region.

Additionally, the county celebrated the completion of Phase 1 improvements at the Los Vecinos Community Center and Park in Tijeras. The project, which was marked by a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony, represents a significant milestone in community-driven infrastructure upgrades. These collective efforts aim to enhance recreational facilities and preserve open spaces for residents across the South Valley and surrounding areas.
