First Friday Art Walk set for this weekend in Sequim

The First Friday Art Walk in Sequim, Washington, will take place this weekend from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at multiple downtown venues. Highlights include the opening of “Narratives: Stories in Art” at the Karen Kuznek-Reese Gallery, the Blue Whole Gallery’s 29th anniversary exhibition “At 29, We Still Shine,” and new works at the A. Milligan Art Studio and Gallery. Other participants include the Sequim Museum and Arts, Rain Shadow Artisans, local bookstores, cafes, and shops, offering art, poetry readings, live music, and artisan goods.

This event matters because it showcases the vibrant local arts scene in Sequim, bringing together galleries, artists, and community members to celebrate visual storytelling, support local creators, and foster cultural engagement. The Blue Whole Gallery’s anniversary underscores the enduring role of community-driven art spaces, while the Olympic Peninsula Art Association’s scholarship fund highlights how such events directly support emerging artists.
