The 61st Venice Biennale, titled 'In Minor Keys' and curated by the late Koyo Kouoh, will run from May to November 2026. The exhibition will feature 15 artists from Latin America, including Alvaro Barrington, Carolina Caycedo, Alfredo Jaar, and Guadalupe Maravilla, among others, who will present works across the Giardini, Arsenale, and other Venetian venues.
The event is significant as it posthumously realizes Kouoh's curatorial vision, which centers on human relationships, spirituality, and ecology. The strong Latin American representation highlights the region's vital contribution to global contemporary art dialogues, emphasizing themes of memory, collective experience, and a reconnection to the earth within a major international platform.
