Abstract artist Swati Goel presents her sixth solo exhibition, “emotions of (BOM)bay,” from 4–8 June 2026 at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The show features 28 artworks on linen that explore Bombay as an emotional landscape rather than a literal city, using abstraction to convey feelings of urgency, resilience, chaos, and hope. Goel, who began painting during the COVID lockdown, has since completed a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from the Royal College of Art in London.
The exhibition matters because it marks a significant milestone in Goel’s rapid artistic development—from a self-taught pandemic-era painter to an MFA graduate with multiple solo shows and participation in prestigious Indian art platforms. By translating the intangible emotional textures of urban life into abstract works, Goel contributes to a growing conversation about how contemporary artists in India are reimagining the relationship between place, memory, and feeling. The show also highlights the increasing visibility of emerging female abstract painters in the Indian art scene.
