living fog cloud by fujiko nakaya fills tadao ando's rotunda at paris's bourse de commerce

Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya has installed her fog sculpture 'Cloud #07156' inside the rotunda of the Bourse de Commerce in Paris, a space originally designed by architect Tadao Ando. The work fills the concrete rotunda with shifting layers of fog, allowing visitors to navigate through the ephemeral, atmospheric installation. The piece is part of the ongoing programming at the museum, which is dedicated to the Pinault Collection.

This installation matters because it brings together two of Japan's most celebrated contemporary figures—Nakaya, a pioneer of fog sculpture, and Ando, a Pritzker Prize-winning architect—in a dialogue between art and architecture. The work transforms the museum's iconic space into an immersive, sensory experience, highlighting how contemporary art can activate and reinterpret architectural landmarks. It also underscores the Bourse de Commerce's commitment to presenting site-specific, experiential works that challenge traditional notions of sculpture and spectatorship.
