Palma and Taller TO win competition to design new building for MAC Panamá

Palma, a Mexico City-based architecture firm, and Taller TO, a Panama City-based firm, have won an international competition to design a new building for the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) Panamá. The winning proposal, selected from a shortlist of five finalists, will expand the museum's facilities in Panama City's Cinta Costera area, adding gallery spaces, a sculpture garden, and educational areas.

The new building represents a significant investment in Panama's contemporary art infrastructure, providing the museum with a purpose-built home to better serve its collection and public programs. This expansion signals growing institutional ambition in Central America's art scene and could help raise the profile of Panamanian and regional contemporary art internationally.
