BMW and artist duo A.A.Murakami (Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves) have partnered to present a new immersive art installation titled SYMBIOSIS at Art Basel in Basel, running from June 15-21, 2026. The installation translates BMW's Symbiotic Drive technology from the Neue Klasse into an ephemeral experience featuring bubbles, light, and mist that interact with natural forces, centered around the new BMW M760e xDrive.
This collaboration continues BMW's two-decade tradition of partnering with internationally renowned artists at Art Basel, following Alvaro Barrington in 2025 and Es Devlin in 2024. The installation matters because it exemplifies the growing intersection of automotive technology and contemporary art, using advanced engineering to create physical, multisensory experiences that explore the concept of symbiosis between human intention, machine intelligence, and natural phenomena.
