Three South Pinellas Pride Art Shows To Check Out in June

Three Pride Month art exhibitions are taking place in south Pinellas County, Florida, in June. ArtOUT Gulfport's ninth annual juried exhibition at the Gulfport Public Library features over 100 works from more than 200 submissions, with Mark Fisher's "Luke" winning Best in Show. The Werk Gallery presents "JOY: Be Yourself and Be Proud," a colorful display celebrating LGBTQ resilience, while FloridaRAMA Gallery hosts "REALM," curated by Chad Mize, with 28 artists exploring physical and imagined spaces through various media.

These exhibitions matter because they provide vital platforms for LGBTQ artists, many of whom are exhibiting in a gallery setting for the first time. They foster community visibility and dialogue during Pride Month, affirming the role of local art spaces in promoting equality, representation, and creative expression. The shows also highlight the vibrant cultural scene in south Pinellas County, drawing both local and national talent.
