Wright State invites active-duty military artists to exhibit work in inaugural Stein Galleries exhibition

Wright State University's Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries is calling for submissions from active-duty service members at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for its inaugural exhibition, "Active Duty Artists." The show will run from August 25 to September 17, featuring artwork in various media including photography, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. Submissions are due by July 15, and the exhibition aims to highlight the creativity of enlisted personnel, noncommissioned officers, and officers currently serving at the base.

This exhibition matters because it formalizes a new cultural bridge between Wright State University and the military community in the Dayton region. By dedicating a gallery show solely to active-duty artists, the university acknowledges the artistic contributions of service members and strengthens its longstanding relationship with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The initiative also creates a platform for military personnel to share their experiences through visual art, fostering mutual understanding and community engagement.
