Edward Allen Macie, an Erie-born artist, will present a new solo exhibition of paintings and drawings at Glass Growers gallery starting June 25. The show, titled "Nature’s Breath," features still-life, landscape, and portrait works inspired by arboretums, greenhouses, and forests. An opening reception will be held on June 26 during Gallery Night from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the gallery's location at 10 E. 5th St., Erie. Macie, a School of Visual Arts graduate, previously worked as a freelance designer for the Erie Times and the Erie Art Museum before focusing on fine art.
This exhibition matters because it highlights a local artist returning to his hometown to share a deeply personal body of work rooted in reverence for nature. For the Erie community, it offers an accessible opportunity to engage with fine art through a solo show at a local gallery, reinforcing the role of regional art spaces in fostering cultural connections. The event also underscores the importance of Gallery Night as a platform for artists and audiences to interact directly.
