Graduate exhibition maps path to creative excellence

An exhibition titled Heart · Realm has opened at the Chinese Traditional Culture Museum in Beijing, showcasing works by graduates of fine arts and design programs at the Chinese National Academy of Arts. The show features Chinese painting, calligraphy, seal carving, oil painting, sculpture, photography, and design, with pieces created through both traditional techniques and cross-disciplinary approaches incorporating new technologies.

The exhibition takes its central theme from Tang Dynasty artist Zhang Zao's influential dictum about learning from nature and cultivating the mind, reflecting a shared pursuit of artistic excellence where self and object dissolve. It matters because it highlights how emerging Chinese artists are bridging classical aesthetics with contemporary innovation, demonstrating the ongoing relevance of traditional art philosophy in modern creative practice.
