Anna Laudel in Istanbul presents the group exhibition “Concordia Rhapsody,” featuring works by Ardan Özmenoğlu, Beate Passow, Cem Sonel, Thomas Werner, and musician Sinem Altan. All five artists participated in the International Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia Artist Residency Program in Bamberg, Germany, during the 2025–26 period. The show explores creative interactions and cross-cultural dialogue between Turkey and Germany, with works making their Istanbul debut after being created at the residency at the invitation of the German Ministry of Culture.
The exhibition matters because it highlights the fluid exchange of ideas between artists from different cultural backgrounds, using a shared residency experience as a springboard for collective artistic expression. By juxtaposing diverse media—from paper compositions and multimedia works to textiles, paintings, and music—the show challenges viewers to consider how individual practices contribute to broader networks of creative understanding. It also underscores the role of artist residencies and international cultural policy in fostering transnational artistic dialogue, with the exhibition traveling to Anna Laudel Ankara and the residency venue afterward.
