Public Art Underground Ribbon Cutting Set for Tues.

The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency will host a ribbon cutting and artists' reception on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. for the newest installation of the Art Underground Gallery, located in a pedestrian underpass beneath the railroad tracks near the Park Hotel building in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The event is free and open to the public, featuring more than 20 original works by local artists of all ages from Sweetwater County.

The Art Underground Gallery, launched in 2015, transforms an overlooked public space into a community art destination, now in its fifth installment. This project matters because it demonstrates how public art can revitalize underused urban infrastructure, support local artists, and foster community engagement, serving as a model for small-town cultural placemaking.
