디아 비컨(Dia Beacon): 존 체임벌린(John Chamberlain) 조각전(6/13- ) - Lounge

Dia Art Foundation announced that John Chamberlain's iconic sculptures will return to Dia Beacon in a newly conceived long-term installation opening June 13, 2026. The exhibition spans three decades of the artist's work from Dia's collection, featuring his emblematic crushed-steel sculptures, urethane foam pieces from 1966–1970, and later large-scale works like 'The Privet' (1997), shown for the first time in a decade. The show is curated by assistant curator Min Sun Jeon.

This matters because John Chamberlain's work has been foundational to Dia Beacon's identity since the museum opened in 2003, and his sculptures were on continuous display there until 2024. The exhibition reasserts Dia's long-term commitment to Chamberlain's legacy, highlighting his innovative use of industrial and pliable materials that bridge Abstract Expressionism and Pop art. It also offers visitors a rare chance to see the monumental installation 'The Privet' after a decade off view.
