Drawing Now Paris Opens Applications for Its 20th Anniversary Edition

Drawing Now Paris, Europe's first contemporary art fair dedicated exclusively to drawing, has opened applications for its 20th anniversary edition, scheduled to take place from 18 to 21 March 2027 at Le Carreau du Temple in Paris. Founded in 2007 by Christine Phal and Carine Tissot, the fair invites French and international galleries to apply online until 25 September 2026. The 2027 edition will feature over 70 galleries across three sectors: General, Process/Digital, and Inception, with a renewed emphasis on solo presentations and the return of the Drawing Now Award supported by Conté à Paris. An independent selection committee includes Joana P. R. Neves, Jenny Graser, Claudine Grammont, Christophe Billard, Frédéric de Goldschmidt, Pascal Neveux, Philippe Piguet, and Pamella Guerdat.

This milestone edition matters because Drawing Now Paris has, over two decades, championed the evolution of contemporary drawing, helping to secure its place among collectors, institutions, and art professionals internationally. By continuing to support both historical rediscoveries and experimental practices, the fair reinforces its role as a leading platform for contemporary creation. The introduction of a new requirement for the Drawing Now Award—dedicating at least 30% of stand space to the proposed artist—signals a deeper commitment to showcasing individual artistic visions, further solidifying the fair's influence on the global drawing market and curatorial discourse.
