Christie's Presents Luminous Path A Private Selling Exhibition in Partnership with Civil Art - Christie's

Christie's New York will host 'Luminous Path,' a private selling exhibition in partnership with the nonprofit Civil Art, from June 18–30, 2026, at its Rockefeller Center galleries. The show features contemporary artists from the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora—including Dabin Ahn, Gahee Park, Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya, Maia Cruz Palileo, Melissa Joseph, Hiba Schahbaz, and Sung Hwa Kim—whose works explore light as both material and concept. Curated by Aleesa Pitchamarn Alexander, Kathy Huang, Peter Kahng, Ho Jae Kim, and Carla Shen, the exhibition is supported by Christie's Social Responsibility Committee and marks the third collaboration between the auction house and Civil Art.

This exhibition matters because it combines philanthropy with market visibility: sale proceeds will benefit the participating artists, Civil Art, and Apex for Youth, a nonprofit serving Asian American youth. By spotlighting API diaspora artists within a major auction house's commercial space, 'Luminous Path' demonstrates how private sales can function as both cultural advocacy and community fundraising. It also reinforces Christie's ongoing commitment to social responsibility initiatives, leveraging its global platform to amplify underrepresented voices and support emerging talent.
