Hye Joo Jun’s Solo Exhibition “Endoskopeia” on View Through August 1, 2026, at SONGEUN

SONGEUN presents "Endoskopeia," a solo exhibition by South Korean artist Hye Joo Jun, winner of the 22nd SONGEUN Art Award. The show runs from June 19 to August 1, 2026, and transforms the gallery into a tubular structure exploring how external forces—geological, biological, technological—enter and permeate the human body. Works include the video "Delusion - How to Face the Lost Lives" (2025), the large-scale pollen-and-silkscreen piece "Refugia" (2025), and the earlier video "All-Over" (2022), all examining microscopic matter, sensory experience, and the entanglement of bodies with their environments.

The exhibition matters because it marks a significant evolution in Jun’s practice, moving from observation and classification of objects to constructing an immersive environment that positions the human body as a sensory site responding to air, humidity, and sound. As the winner of the prestigious SONGEUN Art Award, Jun’s work highlights a growing trend in contemporary art toward ecological and embodied approaches, questioning traditional boundaries between humans and their surroundings. The show also underscores SONGEUN’s continued commitment to supporting innovative Korean artists and fostering dialogue around art, science, and society.
