Masterpieces of Floral Art from the Belvedere Go on View in Beijing

The Belvedere museum in Vienna has lent a selection of masterpieces of floral art to the Beijing World Art Museum for the exhibition "Blooming Hearts Through Centuries." The show features works by Austrian artists including Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, and others, spanning from the 18th to the early 20th century. The exhibition opened with a ceremony attended by Belvedere General Director Stella Rollig and Austrian Ambassador Wolf Dietrich Heim.

This exhibition marks a significant cultural exchange between Austria and China, bringing iconic works from the Belvedere's collection to a Beijing audience. It highlights the universal appeal of floral still-life and landscape painting while strengthening international museum partnerships. The show also introduces Chinese viewers to lesser-known Austrian artists like Broncia Koller-Pinell and Olga Wisinger-Florian, broadening cross-cultural appreciation of European art history.
