Open call announced for new permanent public artwork in Dubai

ARM Holding and Art Dubai have announced an open call for a new permanent public artwork titled 'We Emerge Stronger' at Huna Sculpture Park in Dubai. Artists based in the UAE, including regional and international creatives, are invited to submit site-specific proposals themed around resilience, renewal, and shared strength. Submissions run from June 17 to July 25, 2026, and will be evaluated on curatorial fit, site response, artistic strength, public presence, and technical feasibility. The park, which opened in March 2024, already features works by artists such as Rana Begum, Shaikha Al Mazrou, and Jacob Dahlgren.

This commission matters because it reflects Dubai's ongoing investment in integrating contemporary art into public urban spaces, reinforcing the role of culture in city-building. By partnering with Art Dubai, ARM Holding is supporting local and international artists while expanding the permanent sculpture landscape in the region. The open call also highlights the growing importance of public art in fostering community identity and resilience, aligning with broader cultural initiatives in the UAE.
