Clark County’s Office of Public Arts Issues and Artist Call for Caminando por las Américas Art Exhibition

Clark County’s Office of Public Arts, in partnership with Commissioners Tick Segerblom and William McCurdy II, has issued a call for artist submissions for the upcoming exhibition "Caminando por las Américas (Walking Through the Americas)." The exhibition celebrates the cultural diversity of Latin America and will open on September 24 at the Clark County Government Center Rotunda Gallery. Submissions are due by August 5 via an online portal. The show is curated by guest juror Olmeca, a UNLV professor, Latino scholar, activist, and artist, and will feature contributions from the Consulates of Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador in Las Vegas.

This exhibition matters because it provides a platform for local and international artists to share stories that bridge communities and honor the heritage of the Americas. By involving consulates and a prominent Latino scholar-curator, the initiative underscores the role of public art in fostering cross-cultural dialogue and community pride in Clark County. It also highlights the county’s ongoing commitment to supporting diverse artistic voices through its public arts office.
