Sands China has officially debuted its Sands Gallery booth at Art Central 2026, Hong Kong's prominent international art fair. The exhibition features contemporary works by three emerging Macao artists—Lei Ieng Wai, Leong Chi Mou, and Dor Lio Hak Man—paired with historical artifacts from the Iec Long Firecracker Factory. This marks the first time a Macao integrated resort operator has participated as an Associate Partner at the fair, signaling a significant push to elevate Macao's local art scene on a global stage.
The initiative reflects a strategic effort to position Macao as a cultural hub rather than just a gaming destination, aligning with government policies for economic diversification. By leveraging Sands Gallery as a bridge to international events like Art Central, the company aims to provide Macao's artists with critical market exposure and foster a deeper integration between the region's tourism industry and its contemporary art sector.
