RVA Galleries is launching a temporary pop-up exhibition at The Watkins at Shockoe, a newly reimagined mixed-use space in Richmond's historic Shockoe Slip. The exhibition, running from March 13–21, features a diverse range of media including fine photography, pottery, and original paintings from over 20 local artists. An opening reception is scheduled for March 13 to kick off the week-long event.
This initiative highlights the ongoing trend of utilizing vacant or repurposed retail spaces—in this case, the former LaDIFF furniture building—to support local arts communities. By featuring prominent regional figures like Matt Lively and Hamilton Glass, the event serves as a vital platform for Richmond-based creatives to engage with the public and revitalize historic commercial districts through cultural programming.
