Artists Saikat Sarkar and Urmila Barman are set to debut a collaborative exhibition titled “Lord Shiva in Abstract Form” at the DWIJA Art Gallery in Bengaluru on April 4 and 5, 2026. The showcase features ten acrylic-on-canvas works that eschew traditional religious iconography in favor of contemporary abstraction, using color, texture, and gestural movement to interpret philosophical themes like cosmic balance and transformation.
This exhibition is notable for its high-stakes valuation, with the ten-piece series estimated at approximately USD 9.5 million, signaling significant market confidence in these contemporary interpretations of spiritual themes. By bridging ancient Indian philosophy with modern abstract techniques, the show aims to engage both the local Bengaluru art community and high-level collectors interested in the intersection of spirituality and modernism.
