Artist Lucy Raven has completed her film trilogy, "The Drumfire," with the release of Murderers Bar (2025). The 42-minute film documents the historic removal of four dams along the Klamath River, capturing the dramatic release of water and the restoration of a river system flowing from Oregon through Northern California. The work is currently on view at the Power Plant in Toronto and is scheduled to travel to the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston in May.

This project marks a significant intersection of land art, environmental activism, and experimental cinema. By focusing on fluid dynamics and the physical transformation of the American West, Raven connects 19th-century photographic experiments with contemporary ecological restoration. The trilogy—which also explores concrete production and explosives testing—positions industrial processes and geological time as central themes in contemporary visual discourse.
