SUNY Potsdam’s Gibson Gallery is hosting a new exhibition featuring the work of alumna Raquel Acevedo Klein and her family. Klein, a 2016 graduate who primarily studied music at the Crane School of Music, returned to the campus from New York City to install the show, which highlights her dual career as both a visual artist and a professional musician. The exhibition will culminate in a collaborative musical performance on campus.
This exhibition is significant as it celebrates the interdisciplinary success of an alumna while bridging the gap between the university's renowned music program and its visual arts department. By showcasing Klein’s work as an illustrator and conductor, the gallery highlights the growing trend of multi-hyphenate practices in the contemporary art world and reinforces the role of regional university galleries in supporting emerging talent.
