London’s Lightroom venue has announced a major new immersive multimedia experience titled “David Bowie: You’re Not Alone,” scheduled to open in April 2026. Developed in partnership with the Bowie estate and designed by 59 Studio, the hour-long spectacle utilizes 36-foot walls to project rare performance footage, interviews, and never-before-seen archival material. The production is led by Mark Grimmer, who previously co-curated the Victoria & Albert Museum’s landmark 2013 retrospective of the artist.
This project represents the continued trend of high-tech, large-scale immersive exhibitions following Lightroom’s previous success with David Hockney. By integrating Bowie’s personal drawings, lyrics, and stage designs into a 360-degree digital environment, the show bridges the gap between music history and visual art installation. It also signals the enduring institutional and commercial appetite for Bowie’s legacy, coinciding with the recent establishment of the David Bowie Centre at V&A East and the restoration of his childhood home.
