Artist Mia Westerlund Roosen is currently presenting a solo exhibition titled "Then and Now" at Nunu Fine Art in New York, on view through February 21. The show spans her work from the 1970s to the present, featuring sculptures and drawings that explore materiality and the human body, including her notable 1981 phallic forms *Heat* and *Conical*.
The exhibition highlights Westerlund Roosen's long, evolving career and her feminist refusal to conform to the dominant, emotionally distant sculptural language of her early years. Despite being included in a major 1982 Leo Castelli gallery anniversary show, her work was historically sidelined. Dealer Nunu Hung positions the show not as a corrective but as a resonant invitation to pause and reflect on enduring artistic creation in a fast-paced era.
