Ubuntu hosts Fellowship for Black Artists exhibition for a third year

Mural Arts Philadelphia, in partnership with Ubuntu Art Gallery, has opened its sixth annual Fellowship for Black Artists exhibition, featuring 30 works by 11 emerging artists from the 2025 cohort. The opening reception drew a crowd of fellows, collaborators, and art lovers to the gallery, where speeches highlighted the program's impact and mission.

The fellowship, funded by TD Bank, provides a $2,000 stipend, mentorship, and professional development to support Black artists in Philadelphia, aiming to build community and industry connections for talent that often operates 'under the radar.' Curated for the first time by cultural strategist Shivon Love, the program represents a sustained effort to address historical exclusion in the arts by creating a dedicated bridge for artists of color.
