Peterborough Museum and Art Gallery is hosting a free street art exhibition celebrating the city's creative scene, featuring artist-led talks and workshops supported by the Arts Council. The exhibition, which runs until 23 May, includes creative workshops for young people during the Easter holidays and was developed in collaboration with local street artist Nathan Murdoch, with whom the museum first discussed a solo exhibition in 2020.
The exhibition matters because it highlights the growing role of street art in transforming everyday urban spaces into meaningful cultural landmarks that tell authentic local stories. By bringing street art into a formal gallery setting, the museum aims to showcase the creativity and positivity of Peterborough, a city often overlooked for its artistic output, while also engaging the community through educational programming and a new street art trail launched by Peterborough Positive.
