Valley Center Art Gallery is presenting “Native Art,” a special exhibition at the Valley Center Public Library in California from February 11 to March 23. The show features works by Native artists including Marti L Daglio (Kumeyaay, San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians) and Tiffany A. Wolfe (Navajo/Oglala Lakota), highlighting local tribal cultures such as the Luiseño and Kumeyaay, as well as Indigenous peoples from across the United States and around the world.
The exhibition matters because it honors the living heritage and artistic traditions of Native communities in a region deeply rooted in Native history, fostering cross-cultural understanding and dialogue. By transforming the library into a space of color and storytelling, the gallery provides free public access to art that celebrates Indigenous resilience, identity, and contemporary expression, reinforcing the role of community art spaces in cultural preservation and education.
