A new contemporary art gallery, Casa Batlló Contemporary, has opened on the previously closed second floor of Antoni Gaudí's iconic Casa Batlló building in Barcelona. The inaugural exhibition, "Beyond the Facade," is by the London-based art practice United Visual Artists, founded by Matt Clark, and runs until May 17.
The gallery's opening represents a significant fusion of historic architectural heritage with contemporary art, aiming to create a dialogue between Gaudí's legacy and modern artistic practices. It marks a new cultural destination within a major tourist site, expanding public access to a UNESCO World Heritage building and contributing to Barcelona's evolving artistic landscape, coinciding with the anticipated completion of another Gaudí masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia.
