The Martin Parr Revolution

La révolution Martin Parr

The Jeu de Paume museum in Paris is presenting a major exhibition of the late British photographer Martin Parr, on view until May 24. The show coincides with the release of a documentary film, "I am Martin Parr, le photographe so British," which follows the artist and features interviews with his wife, gallerists, and fellow Magnum Photos members.

Parr, who died in December 2025, was a transformative figure in photography, known for his vibrant, humorous, and critical depictions of Western social habits. His induction into the prestigious Magnum Photos agency in 1994 was a significant, if contentious, moment that cemented his influence. The exhibition and film together offer a comprehensive look at an artist who mastered the art of candid observation, leaving behind a prolific and iconic body of work that continues to shape how we see contemporary life.
