Jiangxi Artists Association Holds 2025 AI Art (Design) Works Exhibition and Symposium

江西省美协2025 AI美术(设计)作品展暨研讨会举办

The Jiangxi Artists Association launched the '2025 AI Art (Design) Works Exhibition' at the Jiangxi Federation of Literary and Arts Circles Art Exhibition Center on December 24. The exhibition featured 60 'human-machine symbiosis' AI artworks created by 30 young artists from the province following a training program. The works, spanning traditional and digital mediums, utilized generative AI technology and were presented through various formats including projections, light boxes, and installations.

On January 8, the Association held a symposium to discuss the exhibition. Attendees, including provincial arts leaders, artists, and academics, debated the role of AI in art. They concluded that successful AI art should unify 'technology as the surface, creativity as the core, and culture as the soul.' While acknowledging AI's efficiency in areas like color and composition, participants noted a lack of the 'aura' and emotional tension found in handcrafted works, particularly in static pieces. The event highlighted a push for artists to leverage AI to interpret local cultural resources, aiming to advance Jiangxi's artistic development through technological integration.
