Swedish artist Lap-See Lam has opened her first solo exhibition in Asia at the Tai Kwun Contemporary in Hong Kong. The show, titled "The Dream of the Lion's Way," features her signature multimedia installations, including video, sculpture, and sound, which weave together Cantonese opera, family narratives, and 3D-scanned environments of Chinese restaurants in Sweden.
The exhibition represents a significant homecoming, allowing Lam to engage directly with the cultural context that informs her work. It highlights her unique approach to exploring diasporic identity, migration, and the preservation of cultural memory through digital and traditional mediums, solidifying her position as a leading voice in contemporary art examining transnational experiences.
