Exhibition explores meaning of home

Linnaeus Sanitas in Botswana hosted a collaborative art exhibition funded by the Companies and Intellectual Property Authority (CIPA), marking the culmination of a documentary project that brought together six local artists to explore the meaning of 'Home' through art. The exhibition was part of Contemporary Art Botswana 2025, a two-year initiative to highlight exceptional artistic work from Botswana for local and international audiences. Facilitator Ann Golifer explained that the project aimed to support young artists by providing a platform to showcase their work, addressing her own lack of such opportunities as a young artist.

The exhibition matters because it provides emerging Botswanan artists with exposure to international markets and helps preserve and showcase the traditional side of Botswana through contemporary artistic works. By documenting the creative journey for international distribution, the project bridges local talent with global audiences, fostering cultural exchange and economic opportunities for artists in a region often underrepresented in the global art scene.
