About the Stella Jones Gallery Stella Jones Gallery was the culmination of a dream between Stella Jones and her late husband, Harry Sr. After being avid collectors for some time, the couple decided that they wanted to make African American, contemporary African, and Caribbean fine art accessible to all. In 1996 the Stella Jones Gallery opened their doors on St. Charles Ave. in downtown New Orleans and have been there ever since. The Stella Jones Gallery is fortunate to have many connections in the art world, including Dr. Samella Lewis, who became an instrumental guide in the process as gallery owners. About Stella Jones Gallery For twenty five years, Stella Jones Gallery has played a pivotal role in highlighting the historical relevance of Black Art. Stella Jones, a black female owner, considers the gallery a “unicorn in the art gallery market,” showcasing local artists of color alongside masters in a downtown venue.…
