Martha Invitational 2026

The Martha Invitational returns for its second edition on May 29–30, 2026, at RULE Gallery in Marfa, Texas. Originally conceived in 2023 by Marfa-based artists Martha Hughes, Diana Simard, and Leslie Wilkes as a small, self-organized, low-budget exhibition in Hughes' studio, the event expands this year to include a fourth artist, Bettina Landgrebe. The show features works by all four artists, with Hughes presenting selections from her Garden series, Landgrebe showing her Strange Bloom assemblages, Simard offering landscape-inspired paintings and prints, and Wilkes exhibiting geometric paintings. The opening reception takes place Friday evening from 5–7 PM, with artists present both days.

Open Call for Artists: Gallery A3’s 11th Annual Juried Show

Gallery A3 in Amherst, Massachusetts, has announced an open call for its 11th Annual Juried Show, scheduled for August 6–29, 2026. The theme for this year's show is 'Everyday Sublime,' inviting artists to explore how awe and wonder manifest in daily life. The juror is Andrew S. Holyoke artists turn canal history into 'Waterpower' exhibit at City Hall

Two Holyoke artists, Natasha Colón Ortiz and Lora McNeece Barrett, have created a new exhibition titled 'Waterpower' at City Hall, featuring paintings inspired by the city's historic three-level canal system. The show, which includes original works by both artists, will open with a reception on May 1, 2025. Colón Ortiz and Barrett, who once shared a teacher-student relationship, now collaborate as colleagues after being recommended by residents in response to Mayor Joshua A. Garcia's call for ideas to revitalize the mayor's office space.
