Playinghouse Presented the Téte-a-Téte Exhibition at MDW 2026

Playinghouse, an emergent New York art and design platform, presented the group exhibition "téte-a-téte" at two locations during Milan Design Week 2026: Villa Pestarini and Certosa District. Curated by Margherita Dosi Delfini, assistant curator at the Design Museum, the show featured site-responsive works by independent talents including Anna Dawson, Romain Basile Petrot, Caleb Engstrom, Liyang Zhang, Atelier Fomenta, Maha Alavi, and Francesco Rosati. The exhibition emphasized contextualized domestic settings over sterile white cubes, with pieces in eggshell, glass, rubber, and metals that responded to each venue's architectural history.

The Disobedience Archive, a mobile video archive initiated by Marco Scotini in 2005, is presented in dialogue with Raqs Media Collective at the Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zürich. The archive contains over one hundred documentary and art films at the intersection of art and activism, documenting forms of resistance, social struggle, and collective self-organization.

Rare, World-Class Masterworks from Picasso to Dalí Meet Contemporary Artists in Front Royal at Ichiuji Fine Arts Gallery

The Melissa Ichiuji Studio Gallery in Front Royal, Virginia, opened a new exhibition titled 'Slow Image: Material Intelligence Across Generations' on April 25th. The show features original prints by major 20th-century artists including Picasso, Miró, Matisse, Dalí, Chagall, Calder, and Giacometti, displayed alongside contemporary artists working in clay, steel, textiles, collage, drawing, and paint. Gallery proprietor and artist Melissa Ichiuji conceived the exhibition over two years, aiming to create a museum-level experience in an intimate setting for the local community.

Griffin Museum of Photography brings summer exhibits to Winchester

The Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester is presenting a series of summer exhibitions running from late May through July 2026. Featured shows include "Photosynthesis XXI," a collaboration between Burlington and Winchester high schools; "Atelier 40," showcasing emerging and advanced photographers from a year-long portfolio course; "Caleb Cain Marcus: A Thousand Rectangles: On Design and the Expression of Art"; "Cassidy Thurber: I Want the Sun to Shine Down on You," the winner of the 2025 Carolyn Harder Scholarship; the 16th Annual Photobook Exhibition; a Handmade Photobook show; and "Visionary." A satellite location at Griffin Museum @WinCam will host Ellen Feldman's "WE PROTEST" from June 16 to September 1.

Great Pulteney Street gallery presents Soho Solos: 4 solo exhibitions by Soho Open prize winners

Great Pulteney Street Gallery (GPS Gallery) is launching the inaugural edition of Soho Solos, a new exhibition programme developed from last year’s Soho Open in partnership with Parker Harris. Running from 10th–28th June, the show features four solo exhibitions by prize-winning artists Mandy Hudson, James Robert Morrison, Conor Quinn, and Alice Sheppard Fidler, each presenting new work that explores themes from queer memory and car-crash eroticism to the transformation of everyday objects.
