The US’s largest Raphael exhibition is opening at the Met next year

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will present the largest-ever Raphael exhibition in the Americas next spring, titled "Raphael: Sublime Poetry" (29 March–28 June 2026). Curated by Carmen Bambach, the show brings together over 200 works—including paintings, drawings, decorative objects, and tapestries—spanning Raphael’s career from Urbino and Florence to Rome. Major loans include the Alba Madonna from the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; the Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione from the Louvre; and works from the British Museum, Uffizi, Prado, and Vatican Museums. The exhibition is structured chronologically, with special focus on recent scientific analysis and Raphael’s depictions of women.

Das alles bin ich! Christoph Müller’s gift, part 4

Art collector Christoph Müller has gifted approximately 200 works on paper—drawings, prints, and watercolours—to the Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings) in Berlin. The gift is being presented in four successive exhibitions at the Gemäldegalerie under the title "Das alles bin ich" (I am all that!), with the final installment, "Leaf by leaf – A life with art," running from 10 March to 14 June 2026. The works span five centuries and originate from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and France, covering themes such as nature, portraits, landscapes, history, and everyday life.

Museum Sculptures in Park Sanssouci Return Restored

The show features drawings by the 16th-century Dutch artist Maarten van Heemskerck, on loan from the Kupferstichkabinett of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, alongside over sixty works from the institute's own holdings—including prints, engravings, and archival photographs—plus loans from the Bibliotheca Hertziana, the Musei Capitolini, and the Istituto Archeologico Germanico di Roma.
