'Rooted Strong' exhibition at New Mexico Museum of Art explores visions of America from New Mexico

The New Mexico Museum of Art has launched "Rooted Strong: Visions of America from New Mexico," an exhibition timed to coincide with the United States semiquincentennial in 2026. Co-curated by Alexandra Terry and Katie Doyle, the show features 86 objects primarily drawn from the museum’s permanent collection, supplemented by key loans. The exhibition is organized into four thematic sections—Community, Land, Domestic Life, and Celebration—and exclusively features artists who have lived in the state for at least a decade, including figures like Nikesha Breeze, Sabra Moore, and Luis Tapia.

Why Aguirre's works remained out of the public eye

Two Madrid galleries, Malvin Gallery and Espacio Jovellanos, have launched a dual exhibition titled 'Mi perro tiene memoria' to showcase the long-overlooked work of Spanish artist Luis Fernando Aguirre. Following his death in 2021, Aguirre’s family worked to bring his extensive archive out of his studio and into the public eye, featuring both his courtroom illustrations for El País and his evolution through expressionism and figurative painting.

Paris Internationale has announced its first-ever edition outside of France, scheduled to take place in Milan from April 18 to 21, 2026. Hosted at the Palazzo Galbani during Milano Art Week, the satellite fair will feature 34 galleries, including notable participants such as Jocelyn Wolff, Kaufmann Repetto, Luisa Delle Piane, and Sylvia Kouvali.
