Our Highlights From Frieze New York 2026

Frieze New York 2026 took place from May 13 to 17 at The Shed in Manhattan, featuring nearly 70 galleries. 'Preserving the art of Utah culture': Utah-artist museum opens in Salt Lake City

A new art museum, the Salt Lake Art Museum, is opening in the historic B'nai Israel Temple in downtown Salt Lake City, dedicated to preserving and celebrating Utah culture through visual art. Founded by art historian Micah Christensen and led by executive director Chris Jensen, the museum is the first new art museum to open in the city in over 40 years. It has already begun programming, including an interactive 'Make Your Mark' installation and a Utah Master Series highlighting influential local artists such as Galina Perova, Stanley Wanlass, and Ben Hammond. Ashfika Rahman's art lands in New York Times Critics' Top 6

Bangladeshi visual artist Ashfika Rahman has been recognized by The New York Times as one of the six must-see shows at the Venice Biennale, with her work "Than Para — No Land Without Us" featured in the collateral exhibition "Still Joy — From Ukraine into the World." The installation, presented by the PinchukArtCentre and curated by Björn Geldhof and Oleksandra Pohrebnyak, incorporates thousands of small temple bells gathered from different spiritual traditions and draws on testimonies from Ukraine as well as the struggles of Indigenous communities in Bangladesh's Hill Tracts.

Coral Springs museum to honor Clyde Butcher, America at 250 before its relocation

The Coral Springs Museum of Art will present a double-feature exhibition from June 5 to August 1, 2025, as its final show before relocating to the Cornerstone complex in downtown Coral Springs. The exhibition includes "Clyde Butcher: Lifeworks in Photography," featuring 45 large-format prints of Everglades and global landscapes by the renowned photographer, and "Across this Land: America at 250," a multimedia contemporary collection exploring landscapes, waterways, and urban environments in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday. The museum will also host a lecture and book signing with Clyde Butcher on June 13.
