Jonathas de Andrade's solo exhibition, titled "Ivresse d’une vie de bain de mer," is on view at Galleria Continua in Paris. The show brings together recent and never-before-seen works inspired by Brazilian Neo-Concretism and geometric abstraction. Andrade transforms vernacular forms into chromatic compositions, drawing from a project initiated after a 2025 commission from the Victoria and Albert Museum. The works engage with the materials and practices of maritime communities in northeastern Brazil, particularly canoeiros and jangadeiros (fishermen and raft sailors). The exhibition includes the film "Jangadeiros e Canoeiros" (2025), along with silkscreens, recycled sails, and paintings on wood, blending photography, abstraction, and readymade elements.

Amoako Boafo Drew on Venice’s Rich Creative Heritage for His First Solo Show in Italy

Amoako Boafo, the Ghanaian artist known for his finger-painted portraits of stylish Black sitters, opened his first solo show in Italy at the Museo di Palazzo Grimani in Venice during the 61st Venice Biennale. Titled "It doesn’t have to always make sense" and produced by Gagosian, the exhibition runs through November 22 and features Boafo's paintings alongside works by friends and collaborators, including poems by Raphael Worlasi Langani and a sculpture made with Stephen Allotey. The show also includes a video documenting Boafo's life and a "heroine wall" of portraits honoring women he admires, such as curator Koyo Kouoh.

French artist JR has unveiled a monumental inflatable installation titled "La Caverne du Pont-Neuf" on the Pont-Neuf bridge in Paris. The immersive work, composed of giant printed canvases sculpted by air, forms a 120-meter-long cave over the Seine where visitors can walk while listening to a sound piece by former Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter. The installation is free to visit from June 6 to 28, 2026, and pays homage to the 40th anniversary of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's iconic "Pont-Neuf Wrapped" project.
