Untitled Art will launch four new prizes at Houston fair's second edition

Untitled Art Houston, returning for its second edition from October 2 to 4 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, has announced four new prizes for exhibitors and artists, bringing the total potential prize value to $113,200. New sponsors include the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center ($20,000 acquisition prize), Public Art of the University of Houston System ($25,000 acquisition prize), Hotel Daphne ($30,000–$50,000 for up to three works), and the Houston Grand Opera ($7,500–$10,000 plus a commission and residency). Two residency prizes from the fair’s debut—PAC Art Residency and Casa Santa Ana Residency—will continue.

Widline Cadet brings first solo U.S. show to Milwaukee Art Museum

Widline Cadet presents her first solo U.S. museum exhibition, "Currents 40: Widline Cadet," at the Milwaukee Art Museum, on view through August 9. The show features her hypnotic triptych of photographs, her debut photography book "Seremoni Disparisyon (Ritual [Dis]Appearance)," and works across photography, installation, video, and ceramic that explore Black femininity, Haitian folklore, and the immigrant experience. Cadet, born in Haiti and raised in New York, has gained prominence through residencies at the Studio Museum in Harlem and publications in The New Yorker and Aperture Magazine.

Introducing the Etnia House of Arts Residency Program

Etnia Eyewear Culture, the cultural arm of Etnia Barcelona, has launched the Etnia House of Arts residency program in Venice. Housed in the restored Chiesa dell’Abbazia della Misericordia, the contemporary art space invites artists to create site-specific works during two-week residencies, using eyeglasses as a conceptual starting point to explore vision, identity, and representation. The first two residents, Conxi Sane and Greta Pllana, have already produced interventions—Membrane and The Shape I Kept—that expand the symbolic possibilities of the object.

BASE, the cultural center in Milan's former Ansaldo industrial complex, celebrates its 10th anniversary on May 23, 2025, with a 16-hour event called FIESTAS. The program runs from noon to 5 a.m. and includes performances, workshops, concerts, installations, and shared practices by artists such as MOMBAO, Stalker Teatro, Klaus, Francesca Grilli, Nazario Graziano, Michele Rizzo, and many others. The event also launches BASE's first summer season, keeping the center open throughout the summer months.

Arte in Situ Vodnjan 2026: final artists’ exhibition at

The eighteenth edition of the international art symposium Arte in Situ is taking place from 25 to 28 May 2026 at Casa Rosina in Vodnjan, Croatia. Organized by artist Solidea Guerra and co-organized by the Tourist Board of the Town of Vodnjan, the event brings together artists from Croatia and Austria, including Elisabeth Melkonyan, Boris Kačić, Snježana Pokos-Vujec, Nela Marušić, Dunja De Martini, Vesna Kuharić-Ternovec, Solidea Guerra, and Boris Roce. The symposium concludes on 28 May with a vernissage at 6 p.m., presenting works created during the residency. Founded in 2004 as a ceramics meeting, Arte in Situ has expanded to include painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media, hosting over 200 artists over the years.
