L.A.’s hottest new art gallery? An abandoned hospital.

A new site-specific art pop-up called Hospital of Emotions has opened in the former St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles's Westlake neighborhood. The exhibition, which runs from May 27, 2026, transforms 80 hospital rooms into immersive installations by 70 local and international artists working across architecture, design, illustration, and street art. Visitors walk through a waiting room, receive an intake form and wristband, and explore themed floors organized around emotions like joy, sadness, anger, grief, fear, and hope. The property is slated to become part of the St. Vincent Behavioral Health Campus later this year.

Irish comic artist and illustrator Niall Breen is debuting his Dog & Frog comic series in Singapore with a solo exhibition titled "Lazy Days with Dog & Frog" at Heartware Store & Gallery in Joo Chiat. Running from May 29 to July 26, 2026, the show features original artworks, merchandise such as blankets and picnic mats, and a special artist talk on May 30 where Breen will discuss his creative process and the global following his tender, everyday-life comics have attracted since 2018.

Homecoming for local artist in new West Lothian exhibition

Artist Leo du Feu is returning to his hometown of Linlithgow, Scotland, for his largest solo exhibition to date, titled 'Homecoming,' at the Gallery at Linlithgow Burgh Halls. Running from 22 May to 17 September 2026, the show traces the evolution of his work across nature, landscape, wildlife, and storytelling, and includes new pieces inspired by fatherhood and emotional well-being. The exhibition also marks the 15th anniversary of the gallery's opening in 2011, and a free artist talk is scheduled for 17 June.

The exhibition, running until July, transforms the holistic wellness space into a living gallery, featuring Tan's complex works that combine digital techniques with traditional craftsmanship, including velvet, silk, gold leaf, and diamond dust. Tan, also a certified holistic health coach, creates pieces intended to serve as therapeutic tools, engaging viewers through neuro-aesthetics to promote mental peace and reflection.

The New Hampshire Art Association (NHAA) is presenting the Sue Werner Thoresen Juried Exhibition at its Robert Lincoln Levy Gallery in Portsmouth, opening May 1, 2026. The show features 73 artists whose works explore the experiences of women, girls, and gender-diverse people, inspired by the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation’s Status of Women in New Hampshire report. Themes include education, healthcare, economic opportunity, caregiving, safety, representation, and societal expectations, with attention to intersections of race, class, ability, sexuality, geography, and access to resources. The exhibition is held in memory of Sue Werner Thoresen (1944–2024), a longtime advocate for community well-being and gender equity, and includes awards in her honor.
