A new gallery called the Capitol Crossing Gallery of Art has opened in Washington, D.C., within the Capitol Crossing development on Capitol Hill. The gallery features over 20 artists with local connections to the DMV area, including a large lobby commission by Katherine Tzu-Lann Mann. The space is curated by Alexandra Foxworth-Hill, senior property manager for Capitol Crossing Advisors, who selects abstract works that complement the building's modern, sustainable design.
A new public art installation titled “Uniquely Worcester: Celebrating Worcester’s Past & Present” has opened in the windows of the Denholm Building in Worcester, Massachusetts. The exhibition features work from 10 local artists across eight front windows, highlighting the city’s history through themes such as sports, the arts, and notable figures like rocket pioneer Robert Goddard, Valentine card popularizer Esther Howland, and smiley face creator Harvey Ball. One window showcases Abu Mwenye’s vibrant paintings inspired by his Kenyan and Tanzanian heritage, while another displays musical instruments spanning 250 years, including a rope drum from the American Revolution and a guitar made at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The installation runs throughout 2026 and was organized by project manager Melissa Mattson.
The city of Oshawa has opened a call for artists to submit artworks for a temporary exhibition at the Convergence Music and Art Festival, taking place September 19–20 at Veterans Square. Up to five artists will be selected to have a reproduction of their work displayed, with submissions due by June 12. The exhibition celebrates the installation of Oshawa’s first independent sculpture commission, Kaleidoscope by Nicholas Crombach, under the theme “We Gather, We Remember, We Belong.”
